The Side Project Life Cycle

A six-section comic with The Side Project Lifecycle. 1 - Initial excitement with a stick figure saying 'Imagine all the good this could do!', 2 - Quick progress with a stick figure typing at a computer and saying 'Time to drop everything and hyper focus. 3 - Reality plateau with a stick figure saying 'Wow this is actually a ton of work'. 4 - Distraction procrastination with 'Maybe if I just take the time to learn Rust first...', 5 - Complete abandonment with a GitHub repo for a cool side project where the last commit was 2 year ago.

Signed, my 92 barely-touched GitHub repositories.

Why I'm betting on ATProto (and why you should, too)

Social media was supposed to connect us, but most of it has turned into ads, division, and loneliness. I'm betting on ATProto as a way to fix that, and not just for developers. Whether you're a scientist, journalist, or just someone who wants the internet to feel human again, I think ATProto matters for you too.
